how to pay with FPS by divit

Paying by FPS is free, takes seconds, and works from the banking app you already have. Here’s how it works, in general and bank by bank.

the short version

scan, approve, done

01

open your banking app

Any Hong Kong banking app that supports FPS works; most have a “scan to pay” or “FPS transfer” option.

02

scan the QR code

Scan the FPS QR code on the invoice, checkout page or shop counter. Paying on your phone? Tapping the FPS option opens your banking app directly.

03

approve with Face ID

Check the details, confirm with Face ID or fingerprint, and you’re done. You’ll receive a confirmation via SMS and email.

  • free for you: the merchant pays the fee, not you
  • no card needed: you pay straight from your bank account
  • divit’s FPS ID is 162638308: if you pay by FPS ID instead of QR code
  • include the 6-character code in “message to payee” when paying by FPS ID; without it your order may not be confirmed

bank by bank

step-by-step for your bank

every major Hong Kong bank that supports FPS works with divit. Here are the most common flows.

Standard Chartered

paying by QR code: you don’t need to log on. Tap “FPS transfer” from the bottom-left of the app and select “scan to pay”. Scan the QR code (or select the photo if you saved it), authenticate to proceed, and verify the details before confirming. Your transfer is complete. You’ll receive a confirmation via SMS and email.

HSBC

paying by QR code: log on, tap “Transfer/FPS” under “Pay & Transfer”, then “scan QR code to transfer” (or “select a QR code from album” for a saved code). Verify the transaction details and tap “confirm”.

paying by FPS ID: tap “Other local payees/FPS” under “Pay & Transfer”, choose your from-account, choose new payee and select “FPS ID”. Enter divit’s FPS ID (162638308), then input the payment amount and the 6-character code at “message to payee”. Without the code, your order may not be confirmed.

other banks

Most Hong Kong banking apps follow the same pattern: find “FPS” or “scan to pay” in the transfer menu, scan the merchant’s QR code, verify the details and approve with Face ID or fingerprint. If you’re paying by FPS ID, use 162638308 and include the 6-character code from your order in “message to payee”. You’ll always receive an SMS and email confirmation once the payment completes.
